Erbacipollina's Graphic Designer draws the visual system of Italian food & beverage brands: logo, packaging, colour system, type system, cross-touchpoint applications. They build identities that hold up on the shelf, against retail competition, and through changing tastes. Food packaging design discipline sits at the heart of the role.

(What you'll do)

Design identities that hold up on the shelf.

  • Design complete brand identity systems for food brands launching or restyling.
  • Develop packaging design for single SKUs and multi-product lines.
  • Build visual systems for cross-touchpoint applications: digital, retail, advertising, OOH.
  • Work with printers and suppliers to deliver packaging into production.
  • Support the food photographer on production photo shoots for portfolio brands.
  • Build complete brand books with application guidelines.
  • Maintain visual brand consistency across projects, throughout the full lifecycle.
  • Document visual system choices in project files.

(Who we're looking for)

Food packaging specialist profile.

  • 4+ years of graphic design experience on food packaging or food brands.
  • Full command of Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat).
  • Knowledge of packaging print processes (offset, flexo, gravure, digital, finishing).
  • Knowledge of graphic regulations around food packaging (labelling, regulatory claims, ingredients).
  • A feel for food. Able to tell a premium package from a commodity, read the colour code of a product category.
  • Native Italian, technical English for overseas suppliers.
  • A demonstrable portfolio with at least 3 food packaging projects delivered in the last 2 years.

(The team)

The Creative team, with an in-house photo studio.

The Graphic Designer works inside the Creative team, reporting to the Creative Director. Day-to-day counterparts are the 2 art directors, the in-house photo studio, copywriters and the strategist. The portfolio covered is cross-category food: confectionery, beverages, pasta and cereals, preserves, seasonal.

The in-house photo studio produces the packaging and ambient food shots for portfolio brands. The Graphic Designer joins shoots as the reference for the brand's visual system.
